From the diary,

THE REPEATED WOUND.
Hope we have enough money
It is his birthday today right?
Wait for me the on the other side
Wait! Let’s go together

He is a strong boy now
He is like a bolt
I told him to wait here
He must have gone to the square
No! He doesn’t know the square
Where is he, oh Moremi?
A four foot box every year
Should we make another now?

Iya mi he is gone
Ha Abiku
You have to take another wife
Ha! Mama but this is her seventh child
I will not
Then you can die a footless fruit
This poem explains the struggle of sickle cell children. They are considered as evil children, in the West African society; most times, the mother is blamed for the death of the child.
