PHOENIX: THIS IS ME

A lot has happened to me recently. It has changed me as a person. I thought the word Phoenix would be appropriate. It symbolises rebirth and redirection which is what I am currently undergoing. 
Makeup is a way for me to express this change through the use of colours. 

PINK PASSION: 
This look was created with Candy Yum Yum on my lips and some Sleek Pink Sprint on my cheeks. I have on Sleek's Sunset Pallette on my eyes. 
I like the simplicity of this look, I think its easy to recreate and I enjoyed putting the colours together.
On my lids are some Ardell Lashes.

GLOW:
I enjoy playing with colours for night time. I decided to try this look out by using Sleek V2 and Sleek Sparkle on my eyes. I have on a pair of Red Cherry lashes on my lids.

 On my lips is a mix of Heroine and Candy Yum Yum both MAC products and on my cheeks is a generous amount of Blush from Sleek Pint Sprint.

I can feel my heart convulse from the pain. I hear your voice, I see your face, I watch your smile. To think I would not have the pleasure of holding your hand, listening to your words of wisdom, watching you mischievously giggle as you plot your next scheme to annoy Tolu…Toba it is so painful…I’m sure it is painful for you as well. To know we will not be together as brother and sister again in this life is beyond comprehension. It is a daily struggle…the road is rough, the path is completely uncertain but we will get through this as a family. Death has no place in a family’s history; death cannot break a bond that has been blessed by the hands of the Almighty.

Your warm laughter, your reassuring presence and your soothing words that could always stop my quick temper will be missed. The joy to watch you laugh, to hear you smile, to listen to you fondly call my name are treasures locked deep inside my heart for all of time.

I love you dear brother and I know you love me too. We are one we are the same. We walked this earth together, we shared moments of pure joy, happiness tinged with sorrow and felt the biting sting of regret almost at the exact moment in time. We shared our dreams together. I watched your steps grow more confident as you walked into your late teens and you watched amused as I stumbled into the guise of a young woman. We fought countless times, we swore at each other and felt the pain of stinging words fall from our lips but this we knew was a sign of our love for one another. A sign of a bond that we could not break that would last through time and space and could never be parted. A bond that was built on love, memory and joy. Your death shook me in my spirit…I felt myself react with violence to the news…I nearly lost all sense of time…my spirit broke…I felt you needed me as you felt I needed you and now the love is stronger and the bond is deeper for we are one and the same.

You love me and I love you. You called and I answered. I call and you answer. For we are brother and sister.

So happy birthday my Eminado, my prince, my knight in shining armour. The man that would forever hold a special place in my heart come rain or high water our love is too strong to be broken, too deep to be buried and too powerful to be shaken for we will always be one and the same.

We are family. Brother and sister bound by the blessing of the Almighty. No harm will ever come to this union that God has seen fit to create for forever and always.

FOTD-FOTN: EMINADO

This post is a day to night look using Mac and Sleek Products. I have used LA Girl Concealer as well and I love it because it adds a flawless touch under the eyes.
Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's day.

SIMPLE CHIC.
The look was to try and achieve a soft and simple glow for the day using Mac Up The Amp on the lips, and some Sleek Eyeshadow Palettes on the eyes.

The hair was left to its own devices; I just used a curling wand to add a bit of definition to it.

TROPICAL PARADISE.
This look was achieved with the lovely Sleek Storm and Sunset Palettes. 

I added some Red Cherry lashes to add to the effect; love these lashes. On the cheeks I have on Sleek Blush by 3 Flame.

My hair was curled as seen here; but also I brushed it out to make it look more wild; I think the look has a retro feel to it.

On my lips is a mix of Candy Yum Yum and Ruby Woo due to the Valentine's season.

I will be taking some time away from the blog for personal reasons. 

FOTN: VALENTINE'S EDITION.

Hey Guys!

This is a classy but daring look I decided to try. Its loud, vibrant and colourful and I love it!

I thought it'd be perfect for a val's look of the night as it is made up of soft colours such as pink.
The curls also add to the soft but daring quality of the look. 

You can leave your hair tightly curled like I did here. 

Or go for a more loose wild texture like so. The curls add to the romanticised and dainty nature of the look. Either would suit for a romantic outing.

I love this look because its daring and fun. Its also perfect for a night out with le boo to celebrate or just with a group of friends.


For the eyes I mostly 
played around with my Sleek Palletes for a fun 

and vibrant feel. I used Sleek's Pink Sprint Blush Set for my cheeks, to give them a healthy glow and on my lips I have on a mix of MAC's Ruby Woo and Up The Amp which gave a surprisingly, delightful rich pink colour to them. 

I will definitely be experimenting with combining lip colours; I think you can never go wrong especially at night where any bright colour will do.

I might be putting up more Val's Day inspired looks but hope you like this one!
